1. Who these terms are with
These terms will govern use of the Penn website and app, provided by Penn (“Penn”, “we”, “us”). Questions may be directed to support@usepenn.com. Any app agreement will be presented for acceptance when the service becomes available. Reading this website does not enrol you in Penn.
2. What Penn does
Penn is an AI record-keeping assistant for businesses, individuals, and savings groups, including Ajo and Esusu groups. It helps record activity, organise information, retrieve records, and prepare summaries and documents. Business, personal, and group records are kept separately. Features depend on your plan and what has been released; an illustrative conversation or planned feature is not a promise of availability.
Penn does not hold, receive, transfer, or disburse your money. Recording a sale, contribution, debt payment, or payout does not execute a payment or independently verify that money changed hands. Penn’s own subscription charges are separate from your recorded transactions.
3. Claude and AI assistance
Penn is being built with assistance from Claude, Anthropic’s AI tools. Penn also uses the Claude API to interpret requests, organise relevant records, and generate responses and documents. Anthropic provides the underlying AI service; Penn remains responsible for operating Penn. Penn is not an Anthropic product, and this disclosure does not imply endorsement or a partnership.
AI can misread, omit, or invent details. Review important entries, totals, reports, and documents before relying on or sharing them. Penn is designed to request confirmation for information extracted from voice notes, images, and uploaded documents. A clear typed instruction may be recorded immediately. You remain responsible for supplying accurate information and correcting errors.
Penn does not provide professional accounting, tax, investment, legal, or financial advice. Its documents organise the information recorded; they do not replace independent verification or qualified advice.
4. Your account and permissions
Provide accurate account information, protect your credentials and device, and tell us if you suspect unauthorised access. You must be at least 18 years old, legally able to enter an agreement, and authorised to act for any business or group you manage.
Owners control access to their records. If you invite staff or other authorised users, give them only appropriate permissions and remove access when it is no longer needed. Permission to use another person’s business does not give you ownership of it.
5. Your records and other people’s information
You retain your rights in the content you submit. You permit Penn and its service providers to process it as necessary to provide the service, following the Privacy Notice. This is not a transfer of ownership of your records.
Only submit information you are lawfully entitled to use. Where you record information about customers, staff, or savings-group members, provide appropriate notice and obtain any authorisation required by applicable law. Do not submit passwords, payment-card security codes, BVNs, government-ID documents, or unnecessary sensitive information.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use Penn for fraud, unlawful activity, harassment, unauthorised access, or misleading financial records. Do not attempt to bypass permissions, security controls, or usage limits, interfere with the service, or access another person’s data without authority. Applicable AI-provider restrictions may limit requests we can process.
7. Plans, charges, and cancellation
Before you subscribe, Penn will show the price, billing period, usage limits, renewal arrangements, and cancellation process. No payment is due merely for reading this website. Subscription payments are intended to be processed by Paystack. Any trial, proration, downgrade timing, or refund terms must be stated at purchase and remain subject to mandatory consumer rights.
Cancelling a subscription is distinct from deleting an account. Penn’s policy is to keep your records for as long as you need them, until you choose to delete them. A plan expiry or change does not automatically delete your records. Export of your full record history is available on every plan. A plan’s conversational-history limit restricts how far back you can query in chat; it is not a deletion deadline for your records.
8. Availability, exports, and deletion
The service may be interrupted by maintenance, network problems, or provider outages. Keep appropriate independent copies of records you need for your business or group. Exporting a record does not delete it. Penn’s account-deletion policy requires owner verification, offers a full export first, and provides a seven-day window to cancel the request before a permanent purge. The app will explain the procedure when deletion is available. See the Privacy Notice for retention details and exceptions.
9. Penn’s materials
Penn’s branding, software, and website materials belong to their respective rights holders. You may use the service and share your own generated documents for their intended purpose. This does not grant rights to present yourself as Penn or Anthropic, or redistribute Penn’s software without permission.
10. Service problems and responsibility
Contact us about errors or losses so we can investigate. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Suspension and changes
We may need to restrict access to address abuse, security risks, or legal requirements. Where appropriate and lawful, we will explain the reason and provide a way to raise concerns. Material changes to these terms will be notified before taking effect, with any acceptance required by law. Updating this page alone does not retrospectively change an agreement.
12. Questions and disputes
Contact support@usepenn.com first so we can try to resolve a concern. These terms do not remove applicable consumer or data-protection rights.
